The Mountains To Main Street Race Festival is an annual fundraising event hosted by SaBaR charities (Swim and Bike and Run). The Race Festival aims to feature both full and half distance triathlons (inaugural year, 2016, is half iron only), half marathon running race, kids triathlon or duathlon, family fun races and competitions, and a finish line festival with active lifestyle and healthy living vendors and family friendly music. SaBaR Charities aims to grow beyond the annual Mountains To Main Street Race Festival and help promote year round fundraising programs for local non-profits in Upstate South Carolina who advocate for and help build an active lifestyle in the community. These events may include educational and training programs to teach active lifestyles for families, educational training opportunities and excursions, multi-sport specific workshops, and even data collection to help further the active community in Upstate South Carolina.
SaBaR will pursue grants for funding for public service campaigns and targeted marketing to promote healthy lifestyles and active living in vulnerable, under-served communities in the Upstate. By partnering with other like-minded non-profits in these activities, SaBaR will increase the reach and success of these campaigns.
SaBaR Charities will make its web presence and social media channels available for promotion of other local and regional swim, bike, and run events in the Upstate South Carolina region to further promote active lifestyles and multi-sport participation.
Net profits from the Mountains To Main Street Race Festival will be allocated to use in collaboration with local health, fitness, active lifestyle non-profits and recreational venues in the Upstate of South Carolina, with the goal of raising $750,000 for its charitable mission by year ten. The Mountains To Main Street Race Festival will also provide event day volunteer opportunities for all local charities to raise funds for their designated mission.
SaBaR Charities has a fiscal sponsor while 501c3 is pending, which is the Fresh Start South Carolina Charity Incubator Program: Fresh Start SC 501c3.
